Classic condoms are a thin natural rubber latex barrier worn over the erect penis before contact. They are the only method that helps protect against both pregnancy and sexually transmitted infections.

When choosing, look at size, fit and feel. A condom should stay in place without feeling too tight or slipping. Brands such as Durex, Secura and Calvin's Condoms offer classic options with different levels of lubrication and thickness.

Check the expiry date and make sure the wrapper is intact before use. Open it carefully, without sharp objects, and use only water- or silicone-based lubricant, as oils can damage latex.
